Governors are active members in political parties, so they can lead the party lists, said state Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin.
MOSCOW, 14 APR. State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin considers normal and reasonable solution that in some regions of the Russian Federation the party lists of “United Russia” on elections in the state Duma will be headed by governors.
“As for the participation of the governors, moreover, with regard to the possibility that a number of governors in the regions will be headed by party lists, I think this is quite normal and justified, given the fact that governors are active members in political parties and in “United Russia”. We have a number of governors who represent other political parties,” said Naryshkin on the results of Duma Council on Thursday.
“Therefore I do not exclude the possibility that governors may be headed (party lists)”, — said the Chairman of the state Duma.
