The Kremlin has called “disgraceful” attack on participants of the competition “memorial”

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the incident near the House of cinema, where people in tunics and with St. George ribbons attacked the participants of the awarding ceremony of the contest “Man in history”, organized by Fund “memorial”. He described the incident as “a disgrace”, reports “RIA Novosti”.

“This is hooliganism, it is a disgrace, those who, under the guise of a St. George’s ribbon, a ribbon diskreditiert, although it is unlikely they can to discredit it, but, of course, is absolutely unacceptable,” — said the press Secretary of the head of state.

On the official website of the “Memorial” mentioned in Twitter that the activists had met came to the competition, shouting: “National traitors”. Participants and guests also threw eggs and poured liquid ammonia from the syringes. As said on Thursday the human rights activist Irina Yassin, the attackers poured green paint the face to the writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya.

Police later announced the arrest of a man suspected in the attack on guests of the competition. “The building of the House of cinema was detained, who tried to pour brilliant green group of citizens.
