About this informed the Agency “R-Sport” on Sunday, may 8, the head a press-services of the Governor of Samara region Nikolai Merkushkin Ilya Chernyshev.
“The reason for such decision was the position of PSO “Kazan” on the need to increase the cost of construction of the Samara stadium. The experts that were part of the ad hoc working group conducted an assessment of the object and stated the need for compliance with the pricing priorities of the Samara stadium, within the previously agreed parameters,” said Chernyshev.
He said that the new contractor will be identified in the near future. “There is no doubt that a change of contractor would not affect the deadlines of the stadium. As planned, the construction of the football stadium will be completed by the end of 2017. I want to emphasize that the construction work on the project is not stopped: subcontractors continue to perform the scope of work undertaken within the framework of contractual obligations”, — assured the press Secretary of the Governor of Samara.
Before that, the Minister of sport Vitaly Mutko said “R-Sport” that the construction of the arena in Samara to the world championship of 2018 “stopped”. “In Samara the stadium stood, it is necessary to resolve this issue. I need to take examination, while you think even the contractor”, — said the Minister.
The organizing Committee of the world football championship 2018 are aware of a possible change of contractor for construction of the stadium “arena Samara” and support this decision, said the Agency TASS in the press service of the organizing Committee “Russia 2018”.
The world Cup in 2018 will be held from 14 June to 15 July in 12 arenas in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-don and Sochi. “Samara arena” for 45 thousand seats, will take six tournament matches: four group stage games, including a meeting with participation of the national team of Russia, and also the 1/8 and 1/4 finals. Previously Mutko said that the construction goes late in two or three months.
According to regional authorities, at the moment the degree of readiness of the stadium in Samara is 40%, reports “Interfax”.
