Kudrin headed the working group of the economic Council under Putin

Ex-Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin has been appointed head of the working group of the economic Council under the President. He will do the same “Priorities for structural reforms and sustainable economic growth”. The decree was published on the official portal of legal information.

The group also included Deputy economic development Minister Alexei Vedev, the head of Sberbank German Gref, the Deputy Minister of Finance Maxim Oreshkin, the first Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Ksenia Yudaeva, Dean of the economic faculty of Moscow state University Alexander Auzan and others. The document States that the group will focus on defining the problems that hinder sustainable economic growth and structural reforms.

In late April, Kudrin was appointed one of the Deputy heads of the economic Council under the President — Chairman of the Board is Vladimir Putin. Prior to that, the former Minister of Finance was only part of the Board.

The economic Council was established in July 2012. It is a consultative body under the President to “prepare proposals on the basic directions socially-economic policy of the Russian Federation, definition of the strategy and tactics of its implementation, mechanisms to ensure sustainable development and technological renewal of the economy”.

Last month, Kudrin also headed the Board of the Center for strategic research. He noted that his Prihod CSR is the order of the President, his handling of a request to connect to the development of the strategy of development of Russia after 2018″.
