Lavrov said about the meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan

At first after the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh by the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, an agreement was reached on the need of ceasefire in the region. This was told to journalists after the meeting, the foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov. The meeting was held in Vienna with the participation of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk group (Russia, USA, France).

“We agreed — and this will be discussed in the final joint statement — to enforce the truce, the cease-fire in the form in which this agreement was reached in 1994 and 1995”, – quoted Lavrov, “RIA Novosti”. “We agreed that the OSCE will be to formulate specific steps to investigate incidents on the contact line”, – he added.

Lavrov also said that the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan in June agree on the time and place of their next meeting, which will continue to discuss the parameters of a settlement in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The meeting lasted about two hours.
