Turkey chose a new Prime Minister

The new leader of the ruling party in Turkey, was unanimously elected Minister of transport Binali Yildirim, he, respectively, will become Prime Minister of the country, reports Reuters.

Yildirim was the only candidate for the role of head of the party. According to the Agency, his election will allow Erdogan, seeking to expand its powers, to strengthen the control over the government.

Davutoglu announced the decision to resign from the post of leader of the ruling party and the Prime Minister on 5 may. “After consultation with the President, I came to the conclusion that the change of the party leader and Prime Minister will be for the better,” he said.
