The official U.S. state Department spokesman Elizabeth Trudeau at a regular briefing on Wednesday commented on the reports of the Federal security service of Russia on liquidation of the Ukrainian subversive groups and preventing terrorist attacks in the Crimea.
“We’ve seen these reports. We recommend that you seek detailed information to the government of Ukraine,” said Trudeau.
State Department spokesman added that the statements of Russian President Vladimir Putin made about reports on the prevention of terrorist attacks in the Crimea, she had not seen. “We believe that the process of dialogue,” said Trudeau, adding that Washington supports the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
Earlier Wednesday, Putin accused the Ukrainian authorities in the transition to terror instead of solving the conflict issues at the negotiating table. He called attempts to carry out terrorist attacks in the Crimea “stupid and pointless”campaign.
On 10 August, the FSB of Russia announced the elimination of the Ukrainian subversive groups and preventing terrorist attacks in the Crimea. The FSB reported that the group of saboteurs was discovered in the city of Armyansk on the night of 6 to 7 August. During the shooting killed an FSB officer and member of the defense Ministry.
The defense Ministry and the Main intelligence Directorate of the defense Ministry of Ukraine has denied the charges, calling reports of Ukrainian subversive group “provocation” and “a fake.”
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, commenting on the statements of his Russian counterpart on the use by Kiev terrorist methods of struggle in the Crimea, called “fantasies”.
