In Estonia, on 16 August, was detained 53-summer Alexander Kornilov, reports Eesti Päevaleht. According to Postimees, it is about the head of the news of the site “Baltic”, “Estonian special services which regarded as being an agent of influence of the Kremlin.”
Kornilov is suspected of embezzling money, which Moscow allocates to the Russian compatriots in Estonia, writes Eesti Päevaleht with reference to the district attorney’s office. He is also suspected of forgery and providing false information to the tax authorities. Currently, law enforcement agencies are searching for three more people on the case, said the Prefecture.
In the fall of 2015 the district court of Tallinn considered the administrative case against Kornilov. In the case it was stated that Kornilov is associated with NGOs Altmedia, through which was conducted a non-existent transactions and to withdraw money without paying taxes, writes Eesti Päevaleht.
