According to official representative of Russian defense Ministry major General Igor Konashenkov, reconnaissance aircraft on 7 September the US twice tried to approach the border of the Russian Federation off the transponders.
“The seventh of September 2016 reconnaissance aircraft P-8 Poseidon of the U.S. Navy twice tried to get closer to the state border of the Russian Federation over the Black sea included without transponders. Airbase in Belbek was raised on duty su-27 fighters,” — said Konashenkov (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).
He said that US planes after approaching Russian fighters abruptly changed course and flew in the opposite direction from the Russian border side. According to Konashenkov, the Russian pilots acted in accordance with international rules of flying.
Earlier on September 7, Reuters with reference to istochniki the Pentagon announced that stremitel of Russian air force intercepted an American reconnaissance plane over the Black sea. The actions of the Russian crew of the news Agency called “unsafe”.
