Rospotrebnadzor warned about the outbreak of intestinal infection in Turkey


The Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human welfare has warned Russian tourists about an outbreak of intestinal infection in Turkey and asked to consider these data when planning trips. This is stated in the message on the Agency’s website.

“According to the official health authorities of Turkey from late August to the present time among the population of the city of Elbistan province Kahramanmaras, an outbreak of acute intestinal infection. The total number of victims is more than 32 thousand people. The victims observed increase in body temperature, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain,” — said in the message.

The Ministry clarified that, according to epidemiologists, the “factor of transmission was tap water,” and “etiological agent of the disease is the norovirus”.
