The majority of insurers were not prepared to sell e-insurance

The willingness of insurers to the mandatory sale of electronic policies can be estimated by the experience of their connection and testing for service enterprises, said the Executive Director of the Russian Union of motor insurers (RAMI) Evgenie Ufimtsev. At the time of starting the operation of the system the testing was a big part of companies, but e-insurance policies sold only 17, he said.

Technically the willingness among large companies to sell electronic policies is high, the managing partner of the National Agency for financial studies (NAFI) Paul Samiev. “Here the question is not even ready, and that in General, companies are not interested in selling insurance policies in electronic form. “The community now awaits the adoption of the relevant guidelines of the Bank of Russia requirements to the sites of insurers, which may need to modify the software,” explained Ufimtsev. From 1 July 2016 entered into force, the legislation that allowed insurance companies to open the possibility of purchase of electronic insurance policies for businesses.

In late September, RSA said that the experiment on voluntary sale of electronic policies, which started in July of 2015, joined only 17 of the largest companies in the Federal level of 74. This spring, from the list of insurers who voluntarily sells e-policies, disappeared Rosgosstrakh, while refused e-sales. According to RSA, as of 4 October, the Russian motorists have issued more than 306 thousand electronic insurance policies.
