As reported in the document, raising the minimum price of cognac will reduce the share of counterfeit alcohol market and increase the investment attractiveness of the industry.
In addition, “the adoption of this measure will lead to economic and financial strengthening of enterprises and to improve the quality and increase the volume in circulation of legal cognac”, stated in the notice.

Meanwhile, as reported by market sources, we are talking about the fact that the retail price of cognac amounted to 333 rubles per bottle (0.5 liters), selling price – 285 rubles, wholesale – 300 rubles.
Meanwhile, the brandy-makers Union had previously proposed as the minimum higher prices: retail – up to 400 rubles per bottle, cost – 300 rubles, wholesale – 320 rubles.
Currently, the minimum retail price of cognac is 322 rubles per bottle (0.5 liters), cost – 250 rubles, wholesale – 262 rubles.
