The Kremlin said the lack of candidates to replace the arrested Ulyukayev


Nominations for the post of Minister of economic development of Russia from the head of the government Dmitry Medvedev to Vladimir Putin not yet been reported, said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov. He also noted that he did not know when such a proposal may proceed and will discuss possible candidates at the next meeting of the security Council of the Russian Federation, which will take place on 17 November in Sochi.

“I don’t know. Going to a conventional security Council, which was scheduled and held regularly”, — said Peskov (quoted by “Interfax”).

On the eve of 15 November 2016, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin by his decree dismissed Minister of economic development Alexei Ulyukayev, who is accused of receiving a bribe in especially large size, and placed by the court under house arrest. The document says that the Minister was dismissed “in connection with loss of trust”.

Opening November 16 meeting of the government, Medvedev called the incident “an extraordinary event”.

“The incident should be investigated thoroughly to qualify in strict accordance with applicable law, and the final point in this process, as in the question of the guilt or innocence of the former member Government shall supply the court,” — said Medvedev.

The Prime Minister also urged employees of the Ministry of economic development to do anything to it did not prevent the coordinated work on the preparation of the draft budget.

According to article 83 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, Federal Ministers are appointed and dismissed from it by the President of Russia on the proposal of the Prime Minister.
