Lavrov named provocation of the Kiev detention of the Russian military in Crimea

“We believe that it was a provocation illegal, committed by the special services of Ukraine on the territory of the Russian Federation in respect of Russian citizens. Our law enforcement agencies”, — said Lavrov at a press conference with his Belarusian counterpart in Minsk, reports “Interfax”.

The day before, on November 21, the Russian defense Ministry said that the Ukrainian intelligence agencies illegally detained and removed from the Crimea, two Russian soldiers — warrant officer Maxim Odintsov and younger Sergeant of contract service of Alexander Baranov.

The Russian defense Ministry called the actions of the special services of Ukraine as a provocation and demanded the immediate return of the Russians.

The security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in turn, said that there are two deserters, who in 2014 moved to serve in the Russian army, and they were detained on the border with Crimea.
