The national legislative Assembly of Thailand in a special meeting on Tuesday launched the process of accession of the crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to the throne after the death of the previous king Bhumibol Adulyadej. It is reported by The Bangkok Post.
During a special session in Parliament, speaker Pompet Vizitoni invited the heir to take the throne. The audience shouted, “long live the king!”, welcoming the start of the procedure of the coronation of the new ruler of the country. He Vajiralongkorn at the meeting was not present.
The government expects to receive an audience from the Prince for one or two days, said the Minister of defence of Thailand Ruled Wongsuwan. Two senior military sources in an interview with Reuters, added that the Prince will fly to Thailand from Germany, where he has a house.
