The investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case after the murder of the Russian Ambassador in Turkey Andrey Karlov. This was stated by the official representative office, Svetlana Petrenko, reports TASS.
The case was initiated under article 360 of the criminal code (assault on a representative of a foreign state, enjoying state protection).
The attack on the Russian Ambassador occurred on the evening of December 19. He participated in the opening of the photo exhibition in the modern art center in Ankara. The gunman fired 15 to 20 shots indoors. However, he shot the Ambassador in the back. The photos that were published of the Agency, it was obvious that he was holding a gun. Some time after the attack on the Ambassador the shooter continued to fire.
Later, the shooter was neutralized.
The Russian foreign Ministry later reported that the Russian Ambassador had died due to his injuries. In the Department the attack on the Ambassador has called the attack and promised to punish the murderers.
