Killed in Ankara, the Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov posthumously awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation. This was reported on the Kremlin website.
In the decree signed by President Vladimir Putin, it is noted that the title Hero has the diplomat for “steadfastness and courage in the post of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Turkey” and “a great contribution to the implementation of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation”.
