Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the start of gas supplies via the gas pipeline connecting Krasnodar Krai with the Crimea, reported on the official website of the President. As expected, the accession of the gas transportation system of Crimea to trunk pipelines of Russia will ensure uninterrupted gas supply to all categories of consumers in the region.
“The flow of Russian gas main to the Crimean Peninsula will allow us to create a whole new setting from the point of view of development of all economic complex development in the social sphere of the Crimea and Sevastopol”, — Putin said during the launching ceremony of the pipeline.
The President promised that all levels of government will do everything possible to keep the gas as quickly as possible reach the final consumer. For this purpose, in particular, in the next four years in the Crimea is planned to build and reconstruct 2.5 thousand kilometers of gas pipelines and eight pumping stations.
23 December during the “big press conference”, Putin said that the company “Chernomorneftegaz” has completed the connection to the main gas network and gas supply in the Crimea will begin in two or three days.
“I hope we Crimeans will please in the near future”, — said Putin, explaining that after the arrival of Russian gas in the Crimea will begin construction of two power plants with a capacity of 470 megawatts, which will bring the total generation in the region to almost 2 thousand megawatts.
“Additional groundwork for the development of the economy of the Crimea will amount to approximately 800 megawatts. This is very serious basis for the development of economy, industry, agriculture, recreation industry, tourism, that is, the construction of new hotels, infrastructure and so on. This is a great event for the Crimea”, — said Putin.
