At least 188 civilians were killed in the air strikes inflicted by the U.S.-led coalition in Syria and Iraq since the beginning of the operation against the “Islamic state” (IG — banned terrorist organization). This is stated in the statement of the Pentagon.
The Ministry said that the relevant data is given on the basis of the analysis of new reports on the operation of “resoluteness”, which was launched in August 2014. As the message says, 13 of those reports were assessed as not credible, as credible five, another five receive a rating at present.
Credible recognized civilian deaths during the November bombing of a coalition in parts of the Iraqi cities Shahid Yunus al-SAB (November 6) and Mosul (26 and 29 November) and the Syrian al-Salahi (November 21) and Raqqa (November 26).
“In each of these cases, the investigation showed, despite all the precautions taken and the observance of the laws of armed conflict during the strikes, there were victims among the civilian population”, — stated in the U.S. Department of defense.
The Pentagon regularly reports on casualties among the civilian population as a result of air strikes on ISIS positions in Syria and Iraq. So, in November 2016, the Agency reported the deaths of 64 civilians in the period from 20 Nov 2015 to 10 September 2016.
