The Governor of Perm region Viktor Basargin said that he was going to resign, “Interfax”.
“My term of office ends in may, I would like to ask the President about early resignation”, — he said at a press conference.
Basargin said the candidate nominated by President for Governor, has until September, when elections will be held, “to adapt to the conditions of the Perm region, to find the interaction with the residents, political and social movements of the region.”
On the eve of the TV channel “Rain”, citing sources close to the presidential administration and the regional authorities, passed on Basargina intention to resign. According to interlocutors of the channel, in the Kremlin have been looking for a replacement for the head of the region, as the authorities decided that the Governor of the Perm region before the presidential election of 2018, must be a different person.
Among the reasons sources have indicated inter-elite conflicts in the region. According to interlocutors of “Rain”, it did not suit the presidential administration. In addition, the leaders of the region was “not the best” relations with Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, passed the channel.
