The Agency refused to work with Prilepin because of his actions in the Donbass

German Wiedling literary Agency Literary Agency decided to refuse cooperation with the Russian writer Zakhar by Prilepine because of its activities in the Donbass. About it reports “Kommersant” with reference to the letter of the head of the Agency Thomas Wallinga and Russian service “bi-Bi-si”.

In the letter Walling indicated that the Agency “stops the active view” rights Prilepin, because he is “in the Donbas was his battalion, became Vice commander and he took up arms”.

Director Wiedling Literary Agency indicated that the Agency will fulfill contractual obligations to the publishers who publish translations of books of the Russian writer. However, contributions are accepted for these transfers, the Agency is going to donate an international human rights organization Amnesty International.

The Agency specializiruetsya on provision of interests of many Russian writers from Russia and the former Soviet Union. On the website Wiedling Literary Agency the names of Leonid Yuzefovich, Dmitry Glukhovsky, Dina Rubina, and other writers, with whom it cooperates.

Earlier this week, Prilepin in an interview with TV channel “Rain” said, he in October 2016 became the Deputy commander of a battalion on work with staff of the self-proclaimed Donetsk national Republic (DND). He explained that the battalion “is located directly on the line of contact, performs a combat mission.”

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on the activities of Prilepin in the Donbass, saying that the citizens of Russia and countries of Europe take part in the hostilities in the South-East of Ukraine “for various reasons”, including “the call of the heart”.

On the eve of the security Service of Ukraine opened a criminal case against Prilepin under articles of the Criminal code of Ukraine “Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization” and “Financing of terrorism”.
