Medvedev accused the West of trying to “perpetuate” sanctions

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia must be prepared to maintain sanctions indefinitely. According to him, in the West, attempts are being made to them by law “to perpetuate”. The head of government announced on air of TV channel “Russia 1” in an interview with the presenter of the program “Vesti on Saturday” Sergey Brilev.

“Once again, you want to say that we should prepare for the fact that we live under sanctions indefinitely,” he said (quoted by “Interfax”).

According to Medvedev, the West “sanctions perpetuate”, “codify”, “make a lot of laws in addition to all Executive edicts that [President Barack] Obama has made a lot of decisions”.

“They are trying to pass laws that these sanctions will make permanent, like the amendment of Jackson-Vanik or even more”, — said the Prime Minister.
