The intelligence Committee of the U.S. Senate wants to interview the author of the report about “compromising” on Donald trump, a former MI6 agent Christopher Steele. It is reported by NBC News, citing sources.
Steele is currently in Europe, so it is unlikely that it will arrive in the U.S., marks the channel.
Sources The Independent, surrounded by ex-scout emphasize that Steele is willing to agree to a meeting, but feared for her safety. The meeting could take place in the UK or in a neutral territory, the newspaper writes.
The report, which said about communication commands trump with Russia and whether Moscow of dirt on the President of the United States, was published in mid-January, BuzzFeed. According to the publication, the author of the investigation was hired by the opponents of the trump in the Republican and Democratic political parties during the presidential race. Later the WSJ reported that the report has been prepared by 52-year-old Christopher Steele, one of two Directors of the company Orbis Business Intelligence Ltd. and former MI6 agent.
Trump and the press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov denied the existence of any incriminating evidence and called the report’s facts are “fake”.
On the eve of The Washington Post, citing several sources familiar with the situation, reported that the Federal Bureau of investigation was going to pay Touch further work on the report. The sources noted that the FBI believes Steele is reliable, and his information, though not proven worthy of further investigation.
The FBI, according to the newspaper, appealed to the former intelligence officer a few weeks before the election. When the report about “compromising” on trump’s hit the media, the secret service stopped working with him.
