The Russian defense Ministry has confirmed the death of a soldier, an ordinary-contractile Artem Gorbunov during operation in Syria, reports “RIA Novosti”.
According to the Ministry, Russian soldiers were killed on March 2 in repelling attempts to break the group of militants of the banned terrorist organization “Islamic state” in the positions of Syrian troops, where at the moment the Russian military advisers.
“Ordinary contract service Artem Gorbunov in the Syrian Arab Republic carried out tasks for the protection of a group of Russian military advisers. Artem Gorbunov died March 2 near Palmyra in repelling the attempts of a group of militants LIH on the positions of Syrian troops, where there were Russian military advisers,” — said in the defense Ministry.
