The liberal democratic party called for the release of all those detained at the anti-corruption rallies

Thursday, March 30, the press service of the liberal democratic party issued a statement calling for the release of all young people detained in anti-corruption rallies March 26, Sunday.

“Maybe they violated the order. But young people, and the mere fact of detention was a good lesson for the future. Someone succumbed to the propaganda, someone came out of curiosity. Not worth even more embitter the young, keeping them in custody. A humanistic approach, in our view, would be the most correct in this situation”, — stated in the message of the party.

Zhirinovsky explained to the youths the fact that in the cities they have “no place to Express their own positions, to exchange views” and offered to give for this purpose in the Moscow House of unions in the heart of the capital.

March 26 in dozens of cities of Russia held rallies against corruption. The events were organized with the assistance of the Fund of struggle against corruption (FBK) Alexei Navalny. In early March, the FCO has released an investigation of real estate related funds close to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. In most cities the actions took place without the consent of the authorities.

In the capital, the action was not authorized, however, according to various estimates, took part from 8 to 20 thousand people. The police detained over a thousand people. This is a record for Moscow, the number of people arrested at one protest event since 1993.

63 people arrested as of Thursday, March 30, according to the summary table of the headquarters of aid to detainees from the “Urban projects” and “Open Russia”, (available at).

The liberal democratic party has always considered the youth of their target audience, so as not to respond to the detentions at rallies, they could not, said political analyst Konstantin Kalachev. According to him, “Zhirinovsky is not just frontire, and flirts with the young people.”

The leader of the liberal democratic party claims the role of public policy number 3 after President Vladimir Putin and Navalny, said political analyst Mikhail Vinogradov. Zhirinovsky’s speech like “the return of the reflexes in times of public policy” to fill a nearly empty agenda, he said. The question is, will try to fill the “void summons” only the parliamentary opposition or the Parliament as a whole, concludes Vinogradov.
