Putin signed a decree on the transfer of Rosstat to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of economic development


Moscow. April 4. President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the transfer of Federal state statistics service (Rosstat) from the jurisdiction of the government to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of economic development. The corresponding decree of April 3, published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The decree comes into force from the day of its signing, the government charged in a 4-month period to bring their acts in compliance with the decree. The Ministry also is endowed with the function of elaborating state policy and normative legal regulation in the sphere of official statistical accounting.

The decree explains the return of Rosstat to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of economic development objectives “improvement of public administration in the sphere of official statistical accounting, improve the efficiency of the system of state statistics in the Russian Federation and optimization of the structure of the Federal bodies of Executive power”.

Rosstat was subordinated to the Ministry of economic development in the course of administrative reform of 2004. Job statistical Agency officials are actively discussing with the beginning of the year in connection with the transition to use in the statistical practice new versions of the all-Russian classifier of economic activities (ОКВЭД2) and Russian classifier of products by economic activities (ОКПД2). Because of this transition to the updated statistic service Rosstat two months in a row has published the data about industrial production in Russia later than planned.

The head of the Ministry Maxim Oreshkin said that the Rosstat data on dynamics of the basic macroeconomic indicators in the last February are not representative of fundamental and technical reasons.
