A few days before his visit to Moscow U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson called on the Russian authorities to carefully consider its policy towards the regime of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
“It is very important that the Russian government had carefully weighed their continued support of the Assad regime,” said Tillerson at a press confernece at the airport in palm beach.
“Given that he [Assad] has done, he has no place in the leadership of the Syrian people,” he said. In addition, Tillerson said about the preparation of measures for the removal of Assad from power. He declared it, answering a journalist’s question, considering whether he and the US President Donald trump the possibility of forming an international coalition to overthrow Assad. “These measures are taken”, — said the head of American diplomacy.
He again confirmed that the US has no absolutely no doubt about who was behind the chemical attack in Syria. “We have no doubt, given the information we have that the Syrian regime under Bashar al-Assad was responsible for this attack,” he said.
