Five European companies has agreed to Fund the “Nord stream-2”


Moscow. April 24. 2 Nord Stream AG had signed with Engie, OMV, Shell and Wintershall Uniper financing agreement of the project of the pipeline “Nord stream 2”, the press service of “Gazprom”.

“Five European companies undertake to provide long-term financing in the amount of 50% of the total cost of the project, which is currently estimated at 9.5 billion euros. The contribution of each company will amount to 950 million euros,” – said in a press release.

It is noted that the sole shareholder of the project company Nord Stream AG 2 will remain “Gazprom”.

Last year Gazprom, BASF, E. ON, Shell, and OMV signed the shareholders agreement on creation of a gas pipeline “Northern stream – 2” capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Russia to Germany under the Baltic sea. The project is implemented by the project company Nord Stream AG, 2. After the closing of acquisitions by foreign shareholders of shares in Nord Stream AG 2 share in the project will be distributed as follows: Gazprom – 50%, BASF, ENGIE, OMV, Shell, Uniper (100-percent subsidiary of E. ON) – 10%.
