In Russian cities, the mobile communication of the fifth generation — 5G — will be in operation by 2020. Such terms named in the draft programme “Digital economy”, prepared by the Ministry of communications, the newspaper “Izvestia” with reference to the text of the document.
In particular, according to the plans of the Ministry of communications in 2020, the 5G network will earn in eight cities, and by 2025 — already 15.
The representative of the press service of Tele2 said the publication, revision and implementation of the 5G network into commercial operation will not happen before 2021. He noted that the mobile network is moving into a new generation roughly every 10 years (standard 4G introduced in 2011). 5G would be consistent with this trend, said the source.

At the same time the official representative of MTS Dmitry Solodovnikov said that some decisions 5G vendors and network operators can implement in 2018. In General, according to him, the international community and the International telecommunication Union has yet to define network architecture, technology, frequency bands for 5G.
The representative of “Beeline” Anna Imasheva also noted that the technology is not yet standardized, but the operators are preparing for its implementation. “The standard is being developed, and “MegaFon” is actively involved in its development”, — said the newspaper in a press-service of the company.
