Moscow. April 28. The US President Donald trump has signed a decree aimed at lifting the ban on exploration and production of oil and gas bearing zones in the Chukchi sea and Beaufort sea, said the American media.
“This (ban on mining of oil and gas) deprives our country thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in wealth” – he said to journalists in the White house of the United States.
His predecessor as President Barack Obama blocked plans to drill new oil and gas wells on the Arctic shelf over the next five years in December 2016.
The decree of the trump refers to the need to revise the current restrictions on drilling and allow “to develop the offshore fields that the Treasury has received additional income sources, and our citizens have jobs.”
