The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation: the buyers of cryptocurrency needs to pass the identification


MOSCOW, June 8. /TASS/. Russia’s Finance Ministry in a month and a half to finalize its proposals for the regulation of cryptocurrencies, one of which will become mandatory identification of buyers of electronic money. The journalists said Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev.

“Now we are working on this direction, it seems promising. With regard to the regulation (Finance Ministry proposes to regulate the cryptocurrency circulation – approx. TASS) the principles that apply to derivative products,” the Deputy Minister said, adding that their proposals to the Ministry of Finance will present to the government a month and a half.

Moses also pointed to the need for mandatory identification of buyers of cryptocurrency. “The seller and the buyer of financial services can and should install. If you want to buy a financial product, you need to show your passport, fill out the contract, write that you are not a us taxpayer. The same should be here. When a person opens a brokerage account and he says he wants to trade on the bitcoin exchange, it needs (to be identified – approx. TASS),” – said the Deputy Minister.

Earlier, the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina said that the regulator intends to examine thoroughly the principles of the cryptocurrency and then introduce their regulation.

The Chairman of the Central Bank Olga Skorobogatova said that the Bank of Russia in late June, will present variants of normative documents on taxation of cryptocurrencies as digital goods.

In addition, the Central Bank has already announced plans to create in Russia the national currency. Pilot projects the Bank of Russia will implement in cooperation with financial market participants and the Association “FINTECH”, the first results can appear within 2-3 years.
