Rosstandart is preparing amendments to the GOST vodka that will enable manufacturers to expand the product line and boost sales at the expense of the ability to put in the bottle to separate subjects from precious metals – gold and silver coins, all kinds of plates and horseshoes. About the plans of the Federal Agency for technical regulation and Metrology on Friday, reported the newspaper “Izvestia” with reference to the Department.
As explained in the Rosstandart, we are talking about the Guest “Vodka and vodka special. General specifications”, valid since 2013. Developing amendments Technical Committee on standardization “Alcohol, yeast and alcohol products”, the contractor is the Federal research center of food biotechnology and food safety. The newspaper notes that the notification will be posted on the official site of Rosstandart in July.
Now the law on state regulation of production and turnover of ethyl alcohol requires manufacturers and importers to make beverages in accordance with state standards and provide information about it on the label. At the same time, the technical regulations “Food products regarding its marking” does not oblige the manufacturer to indicate on the label any information about the Guest when using it, and signed by Russia in 2014, the EurAsEC Treaty obligation to apply the standards of any level only on a voluntary basis.
In the case of eliminating the requirement of compliance of alcoholic beverages to GOST drinks will have to meet only the requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union “On safety of food products”.
