Basmanny court arrested in absentia Ukrainian Prosecutor in the case of Yanukovych


Basmanny court of Moscow decided to arrest in absentia of the Prosecutor of the Chief military Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko and the investigator for particularly important cases of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s office Vadim Primacka, reports TASS. The decision was issued on 20 July, at the same time, it reported the edition “Fontanka.ru”.

According to both publications, the defendants are the main participants in the investigation against the ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Minister of defence of Russia Sergey Shoigu.

On their arrest petitioned the Investigative Committee of Russia, because Primacom, and Kravchenko are accused in the case filed under article 299 of the Penal code (attraction obviously innocent to criminal liability or unlawful institution of criminal proceedings, connected with accusation of committing serious or particularly serious crime). The punishment under this article provides imprisonment for the term from five till ten years.

As reported on Sunday, July 23, the Agency TASS press Secretary of the court Juno Tsarev, “the court chose concerning internationally wanted Kravchenko and Primacka a measure of restraint in form of detention in absentia”. However, she noted that has no information about the details of the criminal case.

At the same time the official representative SK the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko, Kravchenko and other employees of the Prosecutor’s office became involved in the case as “organized knowingly unlawful criminal prosecution of a Russian citizen Admiral Alexander Vitko for political reasons”.

Petrenko also noted that earlier a similar measure was chosen in respect to Oleg Makhnitskiy, which in 2014 was acting Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Mykola Golomsha, who was his Deputy.
