Rosstat last week recorded zero growth of prices


MOSCOW, August 23. /TASS/. Zero growth of prices was recorded in Russia in the period from 15 to 21 August, only three weeks after deflation of 0.1%. Since the beginning of the year growth of consumer prices was 2.2%, and since the beginning of August prices fell 0.2%, according to the materials of Rosstat.

For comparison, in August 2016, the inflation happened at ground level, and from the beginning of 2016 amounted to 3.9%.

While in the comparable period last year (from 16 to 22 August 2016) statistical office recorded an increase in prices by 0.1%. Thus, in annual terms inflation on 21 August fell to a level of 3.7%.

Over the past week reduction of prices on fruit-and-vegetable products by an average 3.6%, including on cabbage – 10,2%, potatoes, onions, carrots and tomatoes – 6,7-9,4%. However, cucumbers have risen in price by 1.7%.

Eggs, sugar, buckwheat became cheaper on 0,7-0,8%, pasteurized milk, wheat and pasta – by 0.2-0.4 percent. At the same time the price of mutton, canned meat, cooked sausages, butter, margarine, sour cream, fat cottage cheese, cheeses, bread, chocolates, caramel, tea and rice increased by 0.1-0.2%.

Gasoline prices increased by 0,1%, on diesel fuel – have not changed.
