Moscow. September 20. INTERFAX.RU – the European Commission reported a record growth of exports from the EU to Russia of agricultural products due to the sale of goods not affected by the Russian counter-sanctions.
Published data show that the total agricultural exports of the EU in July this year amounted to 11.3 billion euros, which is 7% higher compared to July 2016.
The highest growth in terms of value observed in the EU’s trade with the USA (plus 194 million euros), but also with Russia (plus € 104 million) due to the goods not affected by Russia’s retaliatory sanctions.
The biggest increase in food exports in all directions fixed on the articles of wine and alcohol (not affected by the Russian counter-sanctions), as well as powdered milk.
Increased imports of agricultural products in the EU: 9% compared to July 2016. Trade balance EU agricultural products remains positive with a surplus of more than 2 billion euros in July 2017.
