SOCHI, October 20. /TASS/. The presence of international observers on the border between Russia and Ukraine will not save the inhabitants of Donbass from the deadly threat. This explanation to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin gave his press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

On Thursday at the meeting of the international discussion club “Valdai” Russian President expressed the conviction that the closure of the border between Russia and republics in the East of Ukraine will lead to a massacre there.

“It is clear that for observers (OSCE border) could be followed by the armed forces of Ukraine and not only they, but also groups of extremists, well known for its inhumane actions,” Peskov said, answering the journalists ‘ questions. “And here nobody is insured from the start of the next tragic events,” he added.

Sands agreed that the presence of international observers will help to eliminate accusations against Russia of intervention in internal conflict. “Yes! But it does not save the inhabitants of Donbass from the deadly threat that much more important,” he stressed.

The press Secretary also recalled that the origin of a settlement are the Minsk agreement, which defines the sequence of actions. “Out on the border there is one of the last points,” he said.

The analogy with Srebrenica

On Thursday, Putin said that closing the border to political issues – giving the territories with a special status and the adoption of the law on Amnesty will lead to a situation similar to the tragedy with Srebrenica, where the unfolding of the bloody events during the war in Yugoslavia in 1991-1995.
