MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Any attempts to influence Russia and its citizens by the Western media are doomed to failure, said Tuesday the Russian foreign Ministry.
As noted in the Ministry, the Western propaganda structure, “ably juggles facts, looking at the Russian social networks the most crazy theories and passing them off as the truth”, have made every effort to undermine the credibility of the vote in the presidential elections in Russia.
“They have demonstrated a systematic contempt for Russian democracy and the Russian voter, denying him the ability to make decisions independently and to make informed choices. And arrogated to themselves the right to determine the legitimacy of one or another opposition presidential candidate,” continued the Agency.
“How can anything be wishful thinking, but on March 18, 2018, the Russians are quite clearly given to understand: they are not indifferent to the fate of their own country, and any attempt to influence it, including from outside, is doomed to failure”, – stressed in the Ministry.
The foreign Minister noted that some “authorities” of the several States “has tried to present the Russian vote as unfair, non-transparent, unfair and illegitimate”. “With the filing of politicians talking about it in the media, the so-called independent observers and other “experts on Russia”, – added in Department.
Response to statements Nauert
On Smolensk square drew attention to the words of state Department spokesman Heather Nauert that on March 16 that “the decision of the CEC of Russia to refuse observer status to more than five thousand members of independent media indicates that the Kremlin regime is afraid of transparency in the elections of the President.”
The foreign Ministry recalled that almost 43.3 thousand polling stations video cameras were installed, “so that everyone could watch the vote live”. “In the elections worked 1513 foreign observers from 115 countries, they covered more than 15 thousand journalists from three thousand mass media, including 99 foreign,” – said in the Ministry.
“All explanations about the decisions made at the 149th meeting of the Central election Commission of the Russian Federation”, – added in Department.
Speculation in the Western media
As noted in the Department, a number of Western media, “combining their own speculation with all sorts of “insides” that flooded the Russian media space ahead of the elections, carried out a systematic line at discrediting the vote”.
“So the Danish newspaper Politiken 15 March 2018 has published an article “Russian threatened and lured them to the polls,” he cited the example of the Minister. – According to the newspaper, turnout in Russia was controlled using the most modern technologies – from mobile apps to social networks. And at all levels – from enterprises to universities and cultural centers.”
The Ministry also pointed to the comment “In Russia everybody is tired of national policy”, which was released in the us magazine The Nation on March 14. As noted in the foreign Ministry, the author of this material asserts that “in Russia everything is – from the President to voters tired of the current situation, can only wait for the “new Renaissance”.
“Speaking of fatigue from the national policy: according to the CEC to the polls on March 18 came 73,37 million people, of which about 400 thousand voted abroad. The turnout was 67,47%”, – have reminded in the Ministry.
On Smolensk square noted that the author made factual errors. “It is alleged, for example, that the series “Sleeper-2″ aired on NTV, not on the First channel, as it was in reality,” – said in depodesta.
Of publications in Bild and The Guardian
The foreign Ministry said the German newspaper Bild, which was released on March 17, under the headline “Bild congratulates Vladimir Putin on his election victory”. In it, told in the Ministry, the newspaper “in a peculiar manner, briefly and without detail “answers to the major questions of the fourth presidential election for Vladimir Putin.” “According to the authors, apparently, to the end of the article the reader should be fully convinced of the justice of the thesis, as claimed by the newspaper in the beginning of the article: “In Russia, elections are held and the winner unknown – unthinkable in Russia of Vladimir Putin”, – said the Agency.
Also on Smolensk square drew attention to the French news website Atlantico, which, under the title “the re-election of Putin: Russian – masochists, or something we cannot understand?” March 13 published an interview with some expert on Russia Sillem Bray, who claimed that “Russian elections is more important is not the result but the ability of the governors to ensure the attendance”.
The issues of appearance, as added by the foreign Ministry, was also concerned with the Russian service Bi-bi-si. “Time and again there were reports of “forcing” the Russians to vote, – explained in the Ministry. – Posted on 18 March 2018 the material “free All day why the Russians went to vote early in the morning” the authors try to understand why this increased percentage of voting in the morning. In this context, is a political analyst Valentin Bianchi, which explains the high early-morning turnout, “the result of administrative mobilization.”
Some publications, as noted in the foreign Ministry, published cartoons. In particular, we are talking about publishing The Guardian on March 4. “Inspired, apparently, old manuals, taken by the British intelligence service of the Third Reich – a caricature almost completely reproduces a poster for the anti-Bolshevik exhibition of 1936 Der Bolschewismus”, – concluded the Ministry.
“Radio Liberty” in the party remained
The Ministry added that the “US-funded “Radio Liberty”, of course, also could not participate in this campaign.” “20 March 2018 published an article “Statistics shows that for Putin thrown 10 million votes”, compiled based on interviews with “active expert in electoral statistics,” P Spilkin, – told in the Ministry. – “Expert” Spilkin assures that the winning candidate was thrown a few million ballots. Recommend author and “expert” if they have real evidence of these allegations, to bring the complaint to the CEC of Russia”.
Otherwise, as pointed out in dipvedomstva, “all of these findings can be safely attributed to propaganda.” “The above and other materials of “Radio Liberty” on the topic held in Russia elections unites blatant propaganda charge and the desire to create the Russian public opinion by a feeling of injustice done to our people the choice”, – said there.
Very cynical
As noted in the foreign Ministry, the most “cynical and sophisticated form of invasion of the Russian electoral space” demonstrated the Russian edition Deutsche Welle. The foreign Ministry pointed to the article “Five strategies of protest behavior in the elections of the President of Russia”, published on 12 March 2018.
“Demonstrating clear disrespect for the Russian legislation, Deutsche Welle actually gives recommendations on the expression of disagreement with the current government system, including electoral procedures, – emphasized on Smolensk square. We believe this kind of publications flagrant violation of journalistic ethics and the principle of non-interference in the internal Affairs of the state. I would like to remind in this connection that in 2017 for the financing of radio, TV and Internet programmes of Deutsche Welle, the German Federal budget has allocated €325 million, as reported on the website of the German Federal government.”
