Sands: the Kremlin is counting on a political logic and wisdom of Europe for the Skripal


MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. The Kremlin is counting on elementary political logic and wisdom of Europe, if the Prime Minister Theresa may will convince them to take measures against Russia in connection with the so-called case Skripal.

“In any case, we at the elementary political logic and wisdom of our counterparts calculated in this case”, – said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“We acknowledge the inexplicable continuation of the line of the British side, we see a continued reluctance of the British side to really interact for the purposes of disclosing this incident [with the ex-GRU officer Sergey Skripal, convicted in Russia for espionage] in order to establish the reality of who can for him to stand,” – said the representative of the Kremlin.

He also noted: “We acknowledge the continued unwillingness of the British side to provide some information and acknowledge that all statements made on this matter, absolutely not have any basis, any evidence, and most often devoid of even basic logic”. “We certainly hope that these items will be partners for the UK, at least, be taken into account”, – said Peskov.

Speaking about Russia’s relations with the EU, a Kremlin spokesman called them “enough difficult”.

As reported by Bloomberg, Theresa may is going to speak to EU leaders a statement which referred to Russia as the main threat throughout Europe, and will try to convince partners of the need to increase pressure on Moscow.
