MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. The Federal security service has established ten days to provide the information distributors on the Internet codes to decrypt messages.
Published on the portal of legal information, the order of the Director of service Alexander Bortnikov amends the order of representation by organizers of the dissemination of information on the Internet in FSB the information necessary to decode the electronic messages to the user.
The point of order that the “organizer of information dissemination in the Internet transmits information for decoding on the basis of a request of the Commissioner of the division [of the FSB], signed by the head (Deputy head) of the authorised units”, complete: “as soon as possible, but no later than 10 days from the date of receipt of the request”.
The duty of the organizers of the dissemination of information on the Internet (messengers) with additional coding of electronic messages or enabling network users to submit the request to the FSB office with the information necessary for decoding such messages were included in the law “On information, information technologies and protection of information” in July 2016.
The amendments to the orders of the FSB also changes the name of the unit of the FSB, requesting information from the messenger – instead of information-analytical Department, Scientific and technical services this division became the Centre of operational and technical measures.
