MOSCOW, may 4. /TASS/. Trade war the US and China opens up possibilities to reach new levels of economic cooperation of Moscow and Beijing, especially for agricultural products. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Igor Morgulov published on Friday an interview with “Izvestia”.
“We, in principle, opponents of trade wars, sanctions swinging “club”, but the opportunities naturally will not miss,” said he.
The Deputy foreign Minister noted in particular the prospects of cooperation with Beijing in the field of export of Russian agricultural products on the Chinese market. “The trend of growth in bilateral trade in this area appeared before the escalation of Sino-us trade disagreements, – continued the diplomat. – Now stack exit conditions of the relevant cooperation to a higher level.”
On 3 April, Washington announced its intention to introduce an additional 25%-s ‘duties on 1,300 items imported from China products, which is $50 billion. In response, China’s state Council has decided to impose 25%-s’ duties on American cars, beans and other agricultural products – a total of 106 items.
