Volodin July 3, will take a delegation of U.S. congressmen


MOSCOW, July 2. /TASS/. Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin July 3, will take a delegation of U.S. congressmen, who are on a visit to Russia. This was reported to journalists on Monday the first Vice-the speaker Alexander Zhukov.

“The meeting [Volodin and us congressmen] will start at 13:00 Moscow time”, – Zhukov told, answering an appropriate question.

The delegation of American parliamentarians on Saturday beginning a visit to Russia which will last till July 5. The delegation included the Senator from Alabama, Chairman of the congressional Committee on appropriations, Richard Shelby, senators John Kennedy from Louisiana, John Hoven from North Dakota, John Thune from South Dakota, Jerry Moran of Kansas, Steve Daines from Montana, and a member of the house of representatives from Texas Kay Granger.

The congressmen began their trip with a visit to St. Petersburg, where on Monday they were received by Governor Georgy Poltavchenko. In the evening, as expected, they will go to Moscow where on July 3, the scheduled meeting in the Federation Council and the Russian foreign Ministry. The visit comes amid preparations for Russian-American summit on 16 July in Helsinki.
