A system of forecasts of the demand for flights to the far East, will discuss the Ministry of transport next week

MOSCOW, August 31. /TASS/. The possibility of creation of system of forecasting of demand and volume of air traffic in the far East will be discussed at a meeting at the Ministry next week. About it journalists were reported by the Ministry.

“Next week, the Ministry of transport held a meeting on the development of air travel the Far East with the center of the country and inter-regional air transportation in the far Eastern Federal district, said the Ministry of transport. – The meeting is planned to discuss the possibility of establishing a system of demand forecasting and traffic volume in the traffic of DFO. Participants will analyze the possible mechanisms of realization of forecasted passenger traffic from the far East to Central Russia and back, as well as within the region.”

As explained in the Ministry, the meeting will be attended by the transport Minister Eugene Dietrich and Minister for Far East development Alexander Kozlov. Meeting and invited representatives of the Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in the far Eastern Federal district, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of economic development and the Federal Antimonopoly service, Deputy heads of the far Eastern subjects of Federation. In addition, to participate in the meeting invited the General Director “Aeroflot” Vitaly Savelyev, the airline executives, members of the group “Aeroflot” and airline “Siberia”.

Last week Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a plan for the development of competition in sectors of the Russian economy in 2018-2020. One of the points of the plan is to develop a mechanism of forecasting demand for air services on the routes in respect of which the measures of state support, including analyzing price performance, demand elasticity and other market parameters. The aim of this measure is the formation of a transparent pricing mechanism and elimination of the shortage of available capacity on the most popular and socially significant directions.

The relevant report of the Ministry of transport and the FAS should be submitted to the government of the Russian Federation in October 2019.

About the subsidy program

In the program of subsidizing of flights to the far East was included in 2009 on 26 routes, in 2018, the document includes the 73 route. In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin during a “Straight line” called to expand the program of subsidizing of air flights to the far East.

The program of subsidizing of flights to the far East in 2018 valid from late March to 1 December. To purchase a subsidized ticket may citizens under 23 years of age, women over 55 and men over 60 years, disabled and their accompanying persons.
